Our Story
Great North Pet Food was founded in 2005 as a complementary extension of a family business with deep Saskatchewan roots. With more than 75 years of experience in premium meat production, our team brings extensive knowledge of proteins, processing, and food safety to the pet food industry.
Based just outside Drake, Saskatchewan, our facility sits in the heart of prairie livestock country, giving us unmatched access to responsibly sourced Canadian animal proteins.
What began as a passion project for local brands has grown into a trusted manufacturing partner for pet food companies across North America. As demand grew, we expanded from a 3,000 sq. ft. space into a modern 6,000 sq. ft. facility in 2021 to support our partners’ needs.
We care about our craft, and have invested our deep knowledge of production and food safety into the pet food and treat market space. Our mission is to create nutritious treats that make pets (and their humans) happy.
